The Man with no Eyes

The Man with no Eyes

Just a short story based on urban legends

Everything was going extremely well. And I should have known that’s when things go wrong. I was about to go home from my job as an actor. I worked on set for 4 hours and everything went smoothly. The bad things started happening when I went to find the bathroom. You would think that a person who had worked at a studio for 10 years would know where the bathroom is. I immediately got lost when I entered through a door that had a weird symbol on it. I started walking through the hallways, trying my best to navigate and remember where the bathroom was.

Great, I think.

Right when I finally wasn’t considered a fledgling actor, I messed up and had to find someone to ask for directions.

The weird part is I don't remember the hallway going straight without any other paths. I keep walking and find a person staring at a wall.

Maybe he's one of my colleagues, I think. He looked very short and negligible. I was surprised I even noticed him.

I pluck up the mettle to go up to him and ask, “ Hey, do you by any chance know where the bathroom is?”.

He turns around slowly and I notice that he doesn’t have eyes. Where his eyes should have been, were only inane pools of black. He pulls out of his pocket a small brass instrument that I didn’t recognize.

I took a step back but the damage was done. The strange man clicked a button and there was a loud fanfare of instruments that hurt my eardrums.

I cover my ears and close my eyes. I feel a swooping sensation and feel myself drop on a hard wooden floor.

I opened my eyes.

The room was a replica of my dining room. I turn around and see the strange man a few feet away staring back at me.

“ What do you want from me?!”, I yell, trying to back away. “ Where am I?!”.

He just smiles and melts into the floor. Instantly the walls start to push together.

As the walls were moving, there was a deluge of rain that came from the ceiling.

My claustrophobia started kicking in and I started hyperventilating.

I screamed but the sound was drowned out by the wave of water that came and pushed me under. My vision started blurring and I could hardly swim.

That’s when the man with no eyes appeared right in from of me. In his hands was a knife of some sort. Black ridges that glowed in the dark with silver linings.

He slashed at me, but the knife didn’t cut my skin. I was about to kick him in the face when I felt my soul draining from my body. I closed my eyes and settled in the pit of darkness. The man is still alive and collects millions of people.

Who knows who his next victim will be.
