Cave

Cave

A Poem by endlessmisery

A poem for when you can't sleep or are having an internal conflict. Perhaps it's something that is destroying you mentally or physically.

"

A Cave, A Cave

A Cave is where we lay

If you choose to obey, it is where you will always stay.

Forever wrapped in the darkness  and sharing space with demons which you host,

dealing with their wrath everyday.

Wouldn't it be so nice if you could run away?

They sweetly whispered sinful songs into your ear, and dragged you down with a sneer.

You have fallen a victim to their frightening, yet enticing leer

But don't stay down for long my dear,

for you will surely drown in your own fear and sorrow.

Holding out for a better tomorrow to rebel and escape,

unless the demons follow you and pry their way into your mind.

Were you think you are fine, but you realize you are your own devil on the inside.

There is no place now to hide

You will always have to abide.

Should you choose to lie,

you may have a temporary vacation from your eternal mind of misery.

Author's Note

endlessmisery
Do you ever feel this way? Do you stay up all night and have your mind chase you around in circles with the same tormenting thoughts? I hope you enjoy, though it is a little dark. Constructive response is always helpful.
