Guatemala ViewsA Poem by Sophia VI wrote this on a mission trip
Sitting atop the mountain looking down on beauty at its finest.
Laying here makes me feel so grateful. For the world and for my world. El Mundo esta una cosa, mi mundo esta otra cosa. The world consists of so many views, So much news, Absolutely no "snooze" Not enough shoes! The blues, A deep and dark blue, almost black. But the sun shines everywhere it's just a matter of when it'll be back. We can't be reliant on others, Nor defiant of assistance. A hard balance to keep and even harder to achieve. Most of the time I can't believe the things I see. What surrounds me so different from over there. It's hard to keep clear of the bad habits that come with being so pivledged. But don't get me wrong, I care! I care! I'd like to help people any way I can, But most of the time it seems they might be doing just fine, It's sublime, Their happiness is incredible, Almost indestructible Bad economy and jobless population, Nothing stops the town's dedication, and the non stop elation It's beautiful and I can't stop staring. Happiness blaring, People caring. So why am I here? To simply observe To assist in what I can, And learn from their culture.
