sometimes i wonder

others i wander

always moving

always doing

no peace

no quiet

i cannot just sit there

and do nothing

there are atrocities

happening every day

and i am going

out there

and doing what i can

whether or not

it actually helps

sometimes i wonder

time passes by

unseen and unheard

by those so immersed

under the breath-stealing waters

of life

and lost dreams

of wishful thinking

and imagining

a better life

and we just have to deal with what we were given
