Out Of "Love"A Poem by Sophia Trujillomy mother when i was young, my mother's pale skin was laced with bruises these weren't ordinary bruises, they were out of love my father when i was young, my father's breath was laced with alcohol and sadness these weren't ordinary beers, they were only 5% alcohol and 95% love i learned that love was painful when your hand collided with my face it was out of love when you screamed profanities at me it was out of love when you threw a vase at the wall it was out of love everything you did was out of love but in the end I was the one who was blinded by your love to realize you were the one who was damaging my heart and even though it was out of love, it still f*****g hurt like hell
