This is War

This is War

A Poem by sonnie ibadah
"

sometimes it's too late to save what matters to you most....

"
Reminisce the moments when we lived and loved,
carefree with untamed hearts.
inseparable, inferno, invincible.
Now they are nothing but memories on my wall.
Reminisce the truth you are trying to forget,
the forgotten world inside,
me, you, us against the world.
Now here we are on our darkest hour.

Can you imagine the times when love ran deep,
the truth ran free,
with promises to keep,
Now we are hanging by the edge.
I can’t imagine the fire in our hearts,
passionately burning, like once before,
not without burning us all down or tearing the worlds apart.

Now that we are walking over the line.
Here we are, hanging by the edge,
death of affection,
birth of destruction.
Not determined to fight to hold on,
but risking it all push each other over.
Over. Gone.
Even for the river that runs the deepest,
love’s run out.

The amount of energy in an atom can destroy whole cities - the energy can also be used for good. Its the same energy but employed in different ways. Thus the fire of love can also be the fire of desolation - same fire - same people involved.
M.A.D (mutal assured destruction) comes to mind but without the periods -
Good writing Sonnie - mind provoking.

I agree with the above lines. Even the strongest will find weakness. So many verses stood out in the outstanding poetry. Thank you for sharing your powerful words and thoughts.

I did. A amazing poem.
Strife seems to shatter as well as create new harmonies. Otherwise humans would not have survived and thrived over time. Love does prevail, even after pushed over the edge.

thank u for reading lizardo, means a lot
passionately burning, like once before,
not without burning us all down or tearing the worlds apart.

This is sad, memories always burnt in our vein.
So, nicely done the job here.
