our lives are made not only by the choices we make....but also the ones we forego....

Words I never said,
Things I never leaned,
promises I never kept,
wishes I never fulfilled,
tears I never cried,
nights I never slept,
love I never showed,
truth I never knew,
lies I never told,
trust I never gave,
pain I never unveiled,
hope I never flared,
            this is the life I never lived.
The choices I made and the ones I forego.
The paths I held on to and the ones I let go.
This is what makes me who I am today.
Me.
I may wonder what I could have been, but the truth is,
I’m not ashamed to be the person that I am today.

I kinda like the depths' of 'tis line: "The choices I made and the ones I forego". Very thought provoking, for sure. Life's always bounded by the uncertainties of time - the time that's never stopped but always seemed to be unleashed to everyone. So, it certainly depends on one how he may play with the vibes of its minutes. It's a spiritual write somehow where... you sent a message, in disguise that you must find beauty in yourself, in your heart, in your spirit, in an every step you take to conquer the world with smiles, no matter what others think of you, whatever they think of what you just do. Just past their hearts! Nice imagery!

Some people say that that things we regret more are the things we did not do rather than the things we did do... This piece makes a statement that one should not regret the things you did not do for they too have contributed to who you are right now... who knows how each of us might have turned out if we changed even one of those circumstance.. For me the core message for the piece is to have a positive outlook in life and stand proud of who you are don't spend so much time regretting your decisions from the past and pondering on " what if " questions. direct your gaze to whats ahead of you.. The piece communicates a very positive message whilst using a dark approach. Beautifully done!!!
