i dreamt of Africa

I dreamt of a blue sky
so clear and bright
where a thousand birds fly
such an alluring sight
                  I dreamt of Africa.

I dreamt of a warm sunshine
aglow like summer day
the wind tender and fine
and beautiful scent like May.
                  I dreamt of Africa.

I dreamt of colossal grasslands
and lively flowery plains
beautiful trees on green highlands
and the blessed rains
                    I dreamt of Africa.

I dreamt of long rivers
flowing by mountain sides
with waters shimmering like silver
crossing the forest sides
                    I dreamt of Africa.

I dreamt of the wildlife
the beautiful gifts of nature
all full of life
the wonderful creatures
                   I dreamt of Africa.

I dreamt of black
and its enchanting beauties
not even the dark
could hide out such beauties.
                  I dreamt of Africa.
