La La LandA Poem by SonifeInspired to write poetry by one of the most poetic films I've ever seen.
'Twas after sunset along the LA skyline
Its silhouette prancing against the light of moon As it lovingly caress the beginning of night From a distance I saw forever in your eyes We dreamed of happy endings To our stories never told It was a journey we started treading Towards a lonely path foretold So it was both a fight and surrender Along azure plains of longing But what is fear of loss and failure Amidst galaxies across never ending The city of stars, would it hold us dearly And encircle us in its arms? Would its warm soul speak to us finally And lay us to our dreams afar? Though I feared spreading my wings You gently lifted me to the sky afar And as swift as an incandescent evening We danced to the mellifluous tune of stars I dare ask to stay in this moment Of blissful whispers and silent songs Melodies unravel as I take my pirouette To the bearer of my dreams all night long As the city of stars embraced me Your hand no longer held mine Thus in vain I struggle deeply To escape this empty caress of night But what was left of the stars above Was a faint whisper of our hearts And though we told the universe of our love Our dreams have conspired to keep us apart © 2017 SonifeAuthor's Note
