elegy on the death of an unseen acquaintance

A Poem by a misfit soul
"

its an elegy lamenting the death of someone i have never seen but just heard of from my friend.Imagining how the person might be and regretting to have got no chance of meeting her.

"
Elegy on the death of an unseen acquaintance
I heard you in tears and words,
saw you in retina of hers,
though never touched or held,
still my soul has felt,
the presence of an absence,
the air enveloping your essence,
my heart urges for a single glance,
laments not getting the chance.
Like a breath i saw you,
rever and adore like a honey dew,
for now when you're an altered form,
a prayer i now kneel and perform:
may you obtain the felicity you spread,
may you recieve the kindness your face read,
for i can do little but this,
to compensate for the chance i missed.

Wow, this reads like Thomas Gray's famous "Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard"
Good choice of diction, good rhymes, good meaning. :)

Wow, this is just perfect.
The idea of composing a poem about someone you hadn't had the chance to know but still bringing up those words is magical.
"The presence of an absence" truly sums up the whole idea of someone's death and its impact.
