Assassins SecretA Story by sonicA short story about a band of Assassins.Prologue He
ran through the city streets of London. He knew someone was following
him. At first he thought it was just thought it was a stray cat but
when he turned around he saw a shape of a person blending into the
shadows. He thought that it was a coincidence until it happened
twice. Then he took to the alleys to try and lose them, and finally
he fled to the main streets. However it was night, he saw that big
ben was almost at eleven. The man stopped on the middle of the
bridge. The dark waters of the Thames flowed beneath. The man was
panting. Then the shadows moved again and out came another man
dressed in black. This man had a gun aiming at the first man. The
first man kicked the man in the stomach and snatched the gun out of
the man in black’s hand and shot him. The man chucked the gun over
the edge and then made the dead man follow. The remaining man stuck
out his hand as a taxi came and he got in and went off into the night
streets.
The taxi dropped the man off at a hotel. The man went into his hotel and entered. As soon as he was in the privacy of his room he checked around for anything that could be used to spy on him. Then he got his mobile phone out and rung someone. “Boss, I know when they are and one of them tried to kill me” Half a mile away a woman picked up this
call as well as the intended person. Once the man gave the address
and hung up the woman hooked her bag over her shoulder and put her
tolls into it and left. Chapter 1 The village When does assassination cross the line and become just murder? The answer is simple if the person is important it’s called assassination, if it is just a normal person then its murder. But to the dead person it’s all the same. They’re dead. In the year of 2013 a small group of people moved into London. This small group of people weren’t normal, nor were they important; they were just able to be a part of any crowd no matter where they were. A man called Richard was one of these he was 34 he was the master of this group. There was woman called Katie, she was 29 she was in the group for five years, there was also a 25 year old man who joined from a similar group he was called Harold and there was a girl aged 17 her name was Chloe, she was a trainee, she was picked up off the streets a week before in the streets of Birmingham. The group of people set up their house in a street in the suburbs of London. One day Katie barged into their main room “we need to move, they are onto us” “we can’t be in the city any more, it’s too populated,” said Richard “we need to move to the country, I have a house ready, it has a barn where we can have all this” Richard pointed at all the laptops and wires. “we can also have more, and bigger machines” said Harold, “we need more processing ability, then I do things like that” and he clicked his fingers. The group closed their laptops and put them in their van and they were followed by all the wires and memory sticks. They drove off the people of the suburbs had no idea that they were there, nor did they know they had left, so they weren’t missed. The van drove through the night avoiding the motorways and sticking to the small country roads as much as possible. “Where are we going?” asked Chloe “A village called Carby” said Richard “How did you get a house there?” “Questioning your elder leads to trouble” “But you’re not that old” “Thank you, but my position is directly involved with the elder, you are yet to meet him when you fully join our group” “What do you fight for?” “I will tell you when we have set up”
and Chloe was quiet the rest of the way. The van drove up to the side of the barn and parked up with the back door up to the side dorr of the barn. They jumped out off the back and opened the barn doors and carried all their stuff into the barn “there aren’t any plugs here so we have to have a extention lead all the way from the house” said Richard. “I’ll do it” said Harold said. He got the extension lead caught the keys Richard cucked at him and went into the house. The Old house was quite large. The outer wall looked good quality despite its old age. Richard remembered being told that these British cottages were built in the 16th century. The inside was well kept there were no cobwebs or dust. And the walls were white as though being painted recently. He plugged the lead into the first plug he came across. Then left again. As soon as he went back outside an old man was aiming a shotgun at him. “who are you” asked the elderly man. “Who are you?” Harold disarmed the old man then aimed the gun at him “who are you?” Harold repeated. “He’s the caretaker” said Richard “sorry I forgot to mention him, he looks after the house” Harold gave the caretaker his gun back and they both exchanged apologies. The caretaker went back to his shed he turned into his house. “doesn’t he live in the house?” Asked Harold “No, the old owners were snobbish, but he probably did sleep in the house while it was empty” Harold and Richard walked back into the barn where Chloe and Katie were setting up the equipment. “sir,” said Katie “I don’t think the internet is any good out here, you know ‘cause we usually tether someone else, I’m picking up one but that is a bit away so, you know, it’s weak” “It’s fine, can’t we strengthen it?” said Richard “No, not unless you want them to notice that we’re doing it, or we can take it over but then we’re more traceable and the owners would probably call their suppliers about their internet not working, which leads them investigating which leads them to us which then leads us into trouble.” “okay, I get your point, just do the best you can do, try to download as much as you can during these quit times” “my phone doesn’t have a very strong signal, either” said Chloe “isn’t that good then, it will be very hard to track us, remember why we had to leave the city” “I guess” said Chloe. They heard a knocking on the barn door. “who the hell is that” whispered Harold “I know you in their” said a cheery voice, “come on new neighbours, I saw you enter the barn. Everyone checked their watches and they all said that it was 5am. Richard went up to the barn do and slid it open slightly and blocked the view. It was an elderly woman. “I saw that you moved in while walking the dogs” “Are you insane, who walks their dogs at this hour of the morning?” asked Richard “Quite a few, you must be City folk, we wake up early and sleep early, that’s the routine of the village” “Okay” “Me and the dogs were wondering if you want to come for some tea” “maybe not today, I just moved in today you see” Richard closed the barn door and said “maybe not ever, damn insane woman” “what’s wrong?” asked Katie “just one of our neighbours , nothing to worry about” “by the way sir I was able to tether two peoples internets, so it’s slightly stronger, but not as good as in the city, but we can’t change it, not like we used to” Richard dropped himself in a lump of hay. A chicken jumped out of it flapping it’s wings clucking angrily. This woke up more so there were ten chicken jumping around making noise. It took then ten minutes to get the chickens out of the barn and out into the garden. Katie sat down at one of the laptops and brushed the chicken feathers of the buttons and started to type. Richard and Harold started to clean up the rest of the mess and Chloe went to the house to make everyone breakfast. © 2014 sonic |
