OUR PERCEPTIONA Poem by Tarella
We awake every morning,
From our slumber, Each day lived, In an unlikely manner, Far above the world of others, Our senses refuse to rest, Its an addiction, To the things abnormal, To the things you can't see, To the things you can't feel, And the things you can't hear, Beauty emanating from everything Around us, To the most "insignificant" of things, Yes,you call us "mad," Yes,you call us "lonely," We cannot be blamed, That you cannot see the wind in slow motion, Or hear its sweet music, We cannot be blamed, That you cannot see the leaves dance, Or sense petrichor when it arrives, We cannot be blamed, That the rain has been reduced to gloom And raggedy complaints, We cannot be blamed, For your seriousness in all Elements of life, This is who we are, Simply the observers, With a flair for the little things, That make life life, Our beautiful obsession, That you will never quite understand, So now we ask, Not pointing fingers, But curious to know, Are we or are the others crazy? Or is it our misconception, Being too playful with life? Or are we cowards trying to hide behind fiction? Let life judge, For we must retreat now, We hear the muse, And answer it, We must. © 2014 TarellaAuthor's Note
