Another short poem in a storm :-)

Gale Force

said the woman on the news

pointing at the map of green and blue

and spiraling white doom

behind her.

 

An Exclamation Point!

 

A Knowing Nod.

 

A Warning.

 

High Seas, High Winds, High Rain and

"Wintry Conditions"

 

As if this wasn't yet wintry enough.

 

The stone house trembles

at a long strong gust

and I wonder if we'll have

any more news at all

tonight

telling us what's next to come.

 

Another rattle like that and

we'll have to look outside

 

to find the weather.
