i let out my last sob forcing myself to only make little whimpers. they would never accept me i was an abomination i was no edrian. i had none of their grace or patience i could not control my emotion, i could turn them off yes but the elders had forbidden it. the others my age had long ago mastered the forest and the creatures within adored them. i however was still trying to get them to touch me. i looked up at the sky and took a deep breath.

“i cant let myself be weak, not any more.”

i whispered into the air, letting the wind carry it out into the air so that all could hear it.
