Slaughter in Taiji

Animals have feelings too

Together you and I

We swim swim swim

In the blue blue sea

Going on and on because of our own whims

You and I, we are free

 

Migrations after migrations

We migrate to Taiji

Together we set to our fate of doom

 

Getting trapped in a cove

Echos of fear vibrate through the water

The smell of metalic blood taints this ocean

 

Both of us know what's going to happen

We've been told of this before

But we're too naive and ignorant to heed the adivce

 

The night feels like meer seconds

We can hear the speeding of boats coming our way

Then that's when the humans strike

 

Spears come shooting down at us

Other dolphins scatter with panic

Red seeps into the blue-ness of it all

You and I get seperated

 

I watch as you fall fall fall

One of the spears sliced off your fin

And down you go

 

A cry of agony rips through me

Before I began to fall fall fall too

But at least I know

I can fall with you

Very good write. I wrote one on this topic a few years ago, I called it, "In the Waters of Japan". I am glad to see this write, it is a form of activism, a cry of emotion, something others can connect with, a call to awareness for these gorgeous creatures, slaughtered by the thousands every year...That last stanza was very gripping, with such a doleful tone, very excellent. Well done!
