Where Did Our Friendship Go?

Where Did Our Friendship Go?

A Poem by Song
"

and life goes on...

"
Don't you miss us?
My dear friends, don't you miss the way we laughed together?
Why does it seem like I'm the only one that still remembers?

Ain't that funny?
As in how it is only I that can recall
All those tears and that feeling of happiness we shed together

Where did we go wrong?
No, I don't think we are wrong
I think we just floated apart, in the way an iceberg does at the north pole

Icebergs resemble us, don't you think?
When it shrinks and melts
Until there is nothing more

We've changed, haven't we?
Or rather, we've all grown up.
We're different from how we were back then,

Can you imagine us as seven little bug-eyed children?
Shivering and shaking in our awkwardness
Standing in a circle, facing each other

We still stand in a circle, don't we?
However, we don't face one another any longer
The paths of our life have stretched out before us, and indeed we have grown

It takes us further and further away from each other, doesn't it?
I suppose that's just how life goes
And our worlds go on, never again crossing another...
