Just because someone leaves doesn't mean it's goodbye. It just means we have somewhere to be. But we'll always be back, no matter how long it takes

The sun is setting
In the western sky
And it's time
To say goodbye

A long journey it was
One of many days
But alas it has ended
We now go our ways

For we take memories
Of what fun we had

Come over for tea at times
We can dance and sing and talk
And don't you bother knocking

This is a lovely bittersweet goodbye that highlights the sweet in a soothing way. Only thing I noticed it "But alas is(it) has ended". Nicely done!
