Reconciliation, Reformation, RestorationA Poem by SomienaA poem based loosely on a scene from one of the books in the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan (I say loosely because it might as well not be based around that at all).Look
around you At this devastation, corruption; This is what you left behind When you went out of your
mind... Do you remember Destroying, incinerating Everything in sight On that horrid night?
[This is a reconciliation, A reformation, a restoration. This is a cleansing of heart and
soul, Of mind and body, of all that is
foul.]
Something inside you snapped Like a twig in a hurricane; What you were wasn't you. We didn't know what to do... Could we just stand there? Watch as you burned everything, Turned everything you cared for Into ash and nothing more?
[This is a reconciliation, A reformation, a restoration. This is a cleansing of heart and
soul, Of mind and body, of all that is
foul.]
You see what you've done And your soul cries out in hate
and fear 'Cause there is nothing left but
dust, Mold, debris, dirt, and rust. You have a choice to make Here and now, before you walk
away: You can leave it behind, start
anew, Or hold on to those days you
rue.
[This is a reconciliation, A reformation, a restoration. This is a cleansing of heart and
soul, Of mind and body, of all that is
foul.]
What happened wasn't to you; Everything is for you, for a
reason. You did this yourself, but
there's a cause And now's your chance to see
your flaws. Now you can see who you really
are Without the demons of your past Clouding up your eyes, Hiding truth in lies.
[This is a reconciliation, A reformation, a restoration. This is a cleansing of heart and
soul, Of mind and body, of all that is
foul.] © 2013 SomienaAuthor's Note
