Begging

Begging

A Poem by Harper

I picked up one foot after another
Without even thinking
I laughed, thinking of how easy that was.
I could get everything I want
Anything I want.
I'm suppose to get everything I want
Right?

Wrong place. Wrong time.
How can I not know it before?
Alright, I'm begging.
I'm begging for life to forgive me.
I'm not suppose to get anything I want.
I'm suppose to get something I deserve.
