Goals and motivation

Goals and motivation

A Poem by someoneuknow

Is it worth trying if you might not achieve your goal?

Trying for your goals is always worth it, because the most important thing is to know that you gave a chance to challenge your soul, you decided on such a difficult path.
In Tara Westover's book "Enlightened", the author talks about life in the mountains, old-fashioned parents, how children did not attend school, complete isolation from others. So when her brother entered college, her life changed. The author tried, but did not get a good response, but only by trying Tara succeeded. The desire for knowledge, and hard work changed her and led her to Harvard and Cambridge universities.
"A step of a ladder was never intended to be used for support, but only to hold a person's feet long enough for him to lift the other leg" - Thomas Henry Huxley. This quote I found describes it.
The myth "Orpheus and Eurydice" tells the story of how Orpheus, a legendary musician and poet, loves his wife Eurydice, and after losing her, he decides to bring her back from the world of the dead. He succeeds, but after breaking the agreement not to look back, he loses her again. Orpheus tried with all his might to win back his love, but after giving in to desire, he ultimately fails to achieve his goal. However, the effort was worth it, because Orpheus said goodbye to his wife, saw her eyes full of loving gaze one more time, which will accompany him in his memories. And Eurydice had the opportunity to say out loud that Orpheus would remain healthy and alive when she could not do it due to misfortunes of fate.
Goals give meaning to life, motivation, help move forward, achieve the desired results. Even though we fail to achieve what we wanted, we still grow as individuals, learn something new, gain life experience. We learn from the mistakes we made while pursuing the previous goal, which will help in the process of the next goal.
