We CanA Poem by AltonI tried my hand at some pseudo-informed political propaganda. It's one sided, but that's kinda the point. I have more to say, so I'll probably tighten it up and add some stanzas sometime. We the People Have answers hidden in our faces And morals held atop steeples. We the People Are so focused on our own races That we might trip up our own shoe laces.
We the People Answer the door, Careful not to leave the cutting-edge On the cutting-room floor. We the People Teeter on the edge Foolishly numb to our everyday War.
We the People Are thereby divided Picking a team, And staying one-sided We the People Have forgotten our Dream.
We the People Rape our habitat And use the diplomacy of rata-tat-tat We the People Chant "Drill baby drill!" Haven't we had our fill?
We the People Were tricked by a cowboy And now a maverick It's no surprise We the People Are suckers for their lies.
We the People Can't lease Peace But we can give change a chance.
We the People Can We the People Must.
