Age is but a number

Age is but a number

A Poem by Billie Atterberry
"

Inner feelings for one so shy to ever really express

"
I can work any day of the week without a day off when i am working with you
your honesty, and sense of humor brings brightness to my day and this is the truth
you may be young, much younger then I, but when I am around you time just seems to fly
your character, your personality, and so much more
is a beauty that I have never seen before
I could spend hours just thinking of you
I can't get you out of my head and i don't really want to

You have a geeky side with your batman ways
but your jokes and sarcasm can leave me laughing for days
the whole room brightens up when you are around
your like a bright light of awesomeness that is so profound
we can talk about writing, and the many video games we play
you and I are so much alike though we are far apart in age

I use to see the number and distance between our age
but the more I am around you, it's like we are one in the same
I don't see a 20 year old guy, when I am talking to you
I just see this beautiful person with so much compassion and truth
you have a sarcastic mean streak just like I do at times
But your sense of sincerity and truth is what truly flies

I know the distance in our age can put a brick in the wall
but if we embrace our similarities those bricks will just fall
I have never known anyone who could have such a hold on my soul and mind
until I met you, and you came into my life
we may be friends and nothing more, do to the distance in our age
but i truly believe we could be more then that some day

I will not push or make you feel weird in any way
if friendship is what it shall be for now that is okay
Sometimes being friends is what will make us stronger in the end
when the pieces finally fall together and a relationship begins
I can hold out, I can wait, no mater how long it may take
and if friendship is all it ever is, then at least you will still be apart of me in some way

I don't know how someone I barely know can have such a hold on me
but I must say, I like it when you occupy my dreams
Someday, Some how, we are destine to be
even if it takes waiting an eternity
