Timothy and Tanner (Act one :)

Timothy: Why don’t you just go up to her?

Tanner: Go up to whom? Who are you talking about?

Timothy: The girl you’re always watching, your eyes stay on her like glue.

Tanner: I Can’t.

Timothy: Why not?

Tanner: I don’t know I just can’t.

Timothy: Dude, You will never be satisfied unless you at least try. You never know she may return the same feelings.

Tanner: I seriously doubt that.

Timothy: Why? Because she is a lot older then you, if there is something there age shouldn't even matter.

Tanner: Yeah, but to her it might; in her eyes I am probably nothing more than just a child in her eyes.

Timothy: You are never going to know that for sure unless you try.

Tanner: well then I guess I will never know…..

For month’s Tanner would catch a glimpse of her walking to work, or sitting at the table in the woods, only wishing he had the nerve to go up and talk to her. His dreams were filled with images of her every night, and thoughts of her every day. If only he could muster up the nerve to talk to her outside of work, but something about her seemed unapproachable; what he didn't know. For hours he could watch her as she sat at the same table every day writing in her journal, wondering what she was writing about, wanting so desperately just to know her. Normally he could walk up to any girl and get their number, but with her it was different, and he didn't know why. What was so different about this girl, what made her so irresistible yet unapproachable at the same time? Why couldn't he just tell her how he felt about her inside?

The object of Tanner’s obsession: (Alice)

Alice was not your typical girl from Spencer Iowa, in fact half the people she came across from here did nothing but get on her nerves. She couldn't understand why everyone was so obsessed with knowing everyone else’s business; it was like she lived in a place that thrived on nothing but drama and hate. She tried to make friends, but only managed to make two that she could truly trust and they weren't even from this town. Their names were Natasha and Aaron, and they were a couple. Although the idea of being in a relationship didn't appeal to her she admired the one that they have. She grew to care about them so much that when they would argue and unintentionally hurt each other she would hurt right along with them.

Natasha: I don’t know why he continues to do this to me, it’s like he is doing everything he can to push me away.

Alice: I seriously doubt he would ever intentionally push you away, he loves you so much more then you realize.

Natasha: I know he loves me; I love him to, I just wish he would just listen instead of jumping the gun every time I say something someone said.

Alice: Why bring what other think and say into the relationship at all, who cares what they think all that matters is the two of you.

Natasha: I know you’re right, I’m just not good at ignoring the things I hear. I just wish people would stop and leave us alone.

Alice: Maybe if you didn’t feed the fire they would go away, do what I do just ignore them, their misery should not be your pain.

Natasha: True.

Their where time they would unintentionally put her in the middle, the last thing they wanted was for her to have to deal with their problems but her heart for them would always put her there no matter what. Often they would apologize for their arguing, but it didn't really matter, she loved being able to help if she could.

Aaron: Alice I’m sorry I truly am.

Alice: Don’t worry about it, it’s OK you know I am here for you guys always; no matter what.

Aaron: I know and I love you for that but you shouldn't have to deal with it, it’s not your problem it’s ours.

Alice: Aaron; its OK, it really is don’t even worry about it ok. I love you both and I love being able to help if I can, so please don’t worry about it. On that note I have to go to work I will talk to you later love you.

Aaron: Alright, don’t have to much fun now.

Alice: Bye

At Work: Alice and Tanner.

Alice: Oh good I am working with you today, at least with you I know we will get the articles out in time.

Tanner: Yeah I know, I swear we are the only ones around here who seem to know how to do anything right.

Alice: I know right.

Tanner: So did you watch that video I told you about the other day?

Alice: Yes! I did, I couldn’t stop laughing that stuff was so funny.

Tanner: I thought you would get a kick out of it.

Alice: I did, you know you have pretty good taste in youtube videos.

Tanner: Thanks, you’re the first to think that.

Alice: well that because most people around here wouldn’t know something funny if it hit them in the face.

Tanner: “laughs, in agreement”

(Hidden feelings and then some) Alice:

Although she wasn't really much for dating, she did have her moments of loneliness and longing for what her friends Natasha and Aaron have, but without the arguing preferably. The idea of eventually having moments of arguing with someone is what stopped her from pursuing the idea of a relationship, nor did she want to change anything about her lifestyle she was quite comfortable the way it was. Little did she know Tanner secretly wanted to be with her, nor did she ever notice him noticing her? For months the same man she would joke around with at work, and had a secret crush on, was infatuated with her as well. Though the idea that they may actually have a connection never crossed her mind do to the substantial difference in their ages. He was young, much younger then she would normally be attracted to, but his personality brought a sense of brightness to her days. She looked forward to the days she was working with him, not only did he make her laugh, but he was very easy on the eyes.

Tanner: Well that’s the last of the articles I believe we are done and able to go home now.

Alice: I really enjoy working with you, you are quick and so much more brighter then these idiots we have to work with every day.

Tanner: Well thank you, you’re the one around here I prefer working with myself.

Alice: Well that’s good to know, on that note I wish you a good night see you tomorrow.

Tanner: AL rightly see you then Alice.

At Home with the roommates:

Aaron: you work with Tanner tonight I take it?

Alice: Yeah, how did you know?

Aaron: Because you always come home in a very good mood when you do.

Alice: Am I really that obvious?

Natasha and Aaron: YES! Yes you are.

Alice: I can’t help it; there is so much about him that I like. He is just so funny and smart and I know he is young, but he is so mature for his age.

Aaron: Why don’t you just hit that already?

Natasha: Aaron! Seriously, you are such a guy you butt head.

Alice: wow okay, I can barely mutter the words I like you to him let alone hit that, gees.

Aaron: I am just messing with you, but seriously are you ever going to let the boy know you like him or what?

Alice: I can’t.

Aaron: Why not?

Alice: He is young and still at that age where he just wants to have fun I seriously doubts he sees me like that.

Aaron: How will you ever know unless you try? For all you know you could be passing up a chance at love all because you are afraid to tell him you like him.

Alice: I know and you may be right but I just don’t know how to just say it, I wish I did but I don’t and for the life of me I don’t know why.

Aaron: then for you know you’re going to miss out on someone because of your irrational fear, just let it go if it isn't meant to be then at least you know you tried.

Natasha: Alice, you know he is right. Stop hiding from what you want just take a chance all you can do is try.

Alice: I know you’re right, deep inside of me I know that everything you two are saying is true, maybe one of these days I will be able to do it; at least I hope so anyway.

There were a few times she wanted to tell him that she liked him, but her shyness would get the best of her. She usually wasn't shy, when it came to these sorts of things but the idea of being hurt again hindered her from ever saying how she really felt. Coming from a history of bad relationships she was terrified of it happening again, so she left it at coworkers and friends for now, never knowing that he dreamed of her just as she did of him. There were little moments where she would catch him looking her way with what appeared to be a look of longing, but she would just shrug it off to wishful thinking. She knew her best friend Aaron was right about one thing though, by being too shy to tell him how she felt she could be letting something great pass her by. “But how” she wondered to herself. How do I let him know that I like him without making things awkward if the feelings are not returned? She was so afraid to try, so afraid to ruin the happy atmosphere he brought with him when he was around.

Two people, that are so obviously into one another and yet neither one of them had the nerve to tell one another. Are they going to let a chance for love pass them by or will one of them finally speak up?”

To be  continued…..
