Rehearsal

~Chapter 2~ The newly formed band meet up with the band that they are touring with. Kori and Taylor get to know each other little by little.

Chapter 2: Rehearsal

 

The newly formed support band had just arrived at their first tour destination. Nervous but overwhelmed with their luck.

“Right, this is it, Newcastle’s o2 academy” Kori said, desperately holding back her excitement.

“Dudette, we’re like 30 minutes early” Anthony complained.

“Better early than when the fans start lining up; alot of them are clingy and will try to pull you back” A brown haired female spoke. Kori quickly turned around to see the female standing a short distance away from her, her whole face turned red and she almost lost her footing.

“T-Taylor J-Jardine?!” Kori stuttered, lost for words.

“Kori, you okay?” Cameron asked, poking her forehead.

“My god... Is this some sort of dream...?” She responded, not realising that she was speaking her thoughts.

“Well, if it’s a dream then you should probably snap out of it, we have to rehearse, you do realise the gig is in two days, don’t you?” Taylor asked, obviously eager to begin.

“Y-Yes!!” Kori followed on from Jordon, who was behind the other members of We Are The In Crowd.

 

Taylor set her mic up and started singing songs from numerous Disney theme tunes, like she usually does with mic checks.

“Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat? Wouldn’t you think my collection’s complete? Wouldn’t you think I’m the girls, the girl who has everything?” Kori listened, leaning against the side of the wing; almost hypnotised by the angel-like music that was playing out of the slightly older female’s talented lips.

“Look at this trove, treasures untold. How many wonders can one cavern hold?” Kori continued, hoping to catch the female’s attention. She was successful.

Taylor looked over to Kori and smiled, waving her hand to signal her to join her.

Kori’s face, once again, turned a dark shade of red as she found herself uncontrollably walking over to the brown haired female. Within seconds she was standing next to the one person who’s music had got her throw some rough times with family, relationships and life in general. For Kori... this was like living her dream for the first of a possible many times.

“You’re a Disney fan... Um...?” Taylor asked, forgetting the name her band members called her by earlier.

“Kori. And yes, Disney has been in my life since I was around the age of 2. 17 years on I’m still a huge fan, no shame!” She let out a light giggle and scratched the back of her neck.

“So you’re... 19?” Taylor asked, flashing a light smile. Kori looked to the side, unable to control the different shades of red lighting up her face.

“Y-yes. 19, 20 next week... I don’t even want to imagine what the guys have planned for me... Or Brooklyn.” She shook her head, knowing her best friend, Brooklyn, would already have something planned.

“Brooklyn? Is he your boyfriend or...?” At that, Kori burst out laughing, crying from the comment.  

“Brooklyn is a female, she has a girlfriend and a four year old little girl. Yeah, I do have a boyfriend but we’re more like brother and sister. He’s the bassist, Anthony” Kori stopped laughing and looked back over to the female who was now smiling at the younger female.

“Well, I don’t normally give my age out but I’m"“

“21. Let’s just say... I had a pretty bad liking for you not long ago. I was at your tour with Mayday Parade too, with Brooklyn... My god... Don’t even mention Mayday Parade to her... She loves them more than she loves gaming and trust me, she spends quite alot of her free time gaming” Kori explained, feeling alot more confident.

“Wow... Wasn’t expecting that but, I have to admit, I do recognise you from somewhere.”

“Hey Kori!  You coming for a drink?” Anthony shouted from across the concert room, not realising Taylor was next to her.

“No, I’m okay. Maybe another time” Kori shouted back, embarrassed.

“Ah come on! It was only last week you were telling me about the bars round here. I’ll take you to Forbidden Planet for a manga afterwards if you come.” Anthony tried to bribe her, knowing how obsessed she was with anime and manga.

“Hey now, there’s no need to force her if she’s occupied” Taylor added, enjoying the company of the younger female.

“Fine...” Anthony walked out, not wanting to argue with a female. He was polite that way.

“Who was that?”

“Anthony.”

“Oh... He seems nice. Hey, I’m done here so, do you wanna go get something to eat? I’m starving.”

“Sure! There’s a McDonalds about 5 minutes away and a KFC around 20 minutes by car.”

“Do you have a car?”

“Motorbike. I can order a taxi if you don’t feel safe riding on back”

“No, I’m fine with it, my dad used to let me rid his with him when I was younger.”

Kori walked Taylor to her motorbike and took the helmet from the back.

“Here.” Taylor gave a confused look and spoke.

“Don’t you need it?”

“Not really, I’ve fallen off this thing too many times for it to hurt now.” Kori winked at the female and mounted the vehicle, slipping her black leather gloves on while she waited for Taylor to get on. “Hang on.” She started the bike and accelerated.

Taylor wrapped her arms around Kori’s waist, that just made her blush once again.

“Are you okay back there?” She shouted over the sound of the wind.

“Perfect!!” Taylor shouted back, loving the adrenaline rush.

“Can you see that shop with the sign FP?”

“Yeah, it looks pretty cool”

“That’s Forbidden Planet. KFC is just on the next street. We’re on Grainger Street right now.”

“Can we go to that coffee shop next to Forbidden Planet afterwards?”

“Of course! Brooklyn’s step-dad’s family owns it so I get discounts from it”

A few minutes later, they arrived at the fast food restaurant called KFC. Kori ordered her usual, KFC Crushem, the same as what Brooklyn normally ordered and Taylor ordered some fries with diet Coke. About 30 minutes later, they both made their way to the coffee shop on the previous street.

“Can I ask you something Tayor?” Kori said, almost mumbling.

“Shoot.”

“You don’t have to answer this but, What’s going on with you and Alex Gaskarth?”  Kori looked down to the strong plastic cup, feeling a bit awkward.

“Alex? Well, we’re kinda like best friends.”

“There’s been alot of rumours about you and him dating.”

“We were. But we ended it not long ago. We’re more like best friends than anything else really.”

“Oh... Well... Okay!”

They continued talking for a while before leaving back to the hotel that they were all staying in.

“So, Anthony classes you as his sister even though you’re his girlfriend?”

“Yeah. We’re not properly going out but, we have before. We say to everyone that we are together, it keeps the perverts and w****s away from us both.”

“Oh I understand, so you’re technically single?”

“Mhm! But I’m not looking. I don’t really like it when guys try to flirt. They tend to use their hands more than their speech.”

“Hey, what room are you staying in?”

“Um... No.69 I think.”

“You’re in the room next to mine. And I think Cameron is in the room on the other side of you.”

“My Cameron or yours?”

“Mine.”

“Cool! Oh, btw, If I get a little too noisy with my guitar, just tell me.”

 

Later that night:

“Cam, where’s Anthony, Alanah and Michael?” Kori looked a bit pissed off, having not been told that they were going out.

“Anthony is out drinking with Michael and a few of the dudes from WATIC,  Alanah has gone round Forbidden Planet to look for the Black Butler mangas, Sam is asleep and I don’t know where everyone else is.”

“Right...” She rubbed her eyes and looked up to the male, who was around her height.

“You going now? I’ve got someone coming round to watch a few Disney **HintHint** movies”

“Oh my garlic no... I’ve heard that excuse before”

“Oh come on! That wasn’t an excuse the last time. Me and Brooklyn were really watching Disney movies. The Lion King to be precise.”

“Oh, then what was the banging?”

“Me trying to wake you up!” She let out a light giggle and pushed him out the door.
