Naughty Monkey

Naughty Monkey

A Story by sohadtolba
"

Our children are our blessing and we have to make sure they are not being brought up in the way that spoils them, learn discipline. But give them the love and attention as well

"
Mimis was a very naughty monkey. Always liked to make tricks on his friends.
One day as he was playing around, Pato, the buffalo asked Mimis if he sees the lake from above to drink? Mimis thought and got an idea. He fooled poor Pato to the wrong lake.
"There are alligators in the lake!" Pato screamed while he was trying to escape the hungry alligators.
Mimis watching the scene, laughed: "I know!"
A few hours later, he saw little Sity carrying bunch of bananas to his family.
"What is that, Sity?" Mimis approached him.
"It is my turn to get the bananas today." Sity answered.
Mimis thought for a moment, "Does it always have to be you? So small and weak monkey like you mustn't carry along all that". He half smiled. " It is not fair. Your bigger brothers should do that." Mimis continued.
Sity stood silent. He raised his eyebrow in agreement. "You are right Mimis! I should not do anything. I should only play!"
Mimis told Sity to share the bunch with him, while his brothers could go get their own share from somewhere else. Sity nodded and they played together.
An hour past and Sity's mother got worried. She sent Sity's elder brothers to look for him. As soon as Mimis saw them coming from far, he ran away and hid behind a big tree. Sity didn't understand, but he was heard his brother scolding him from far.
Sity felt so bad for listening to Mimis and walked silently home with his brothers.
"Someone is going to get in trouble", Mimis danced around.
Little Deni saw what Mimis has been doing all day and ran to the head of monkeys to tell him all about it.
"Something has to be done with that boy". The head of monkeys replied.
He visited Mimis' mother and told her about his behavior. She was really sad and didn't approve how Mimis acted. She thanked him and went to talk with the lion. She didn't know what to do or how to act.
The lion welcomed her and listened to the problem. He told her to trust him and she left.
The next day, the lion pretended to be walking around the jungle with a rabbit. Mimis was very curious, lions are never friends with rabbits. He followed them to see what is the secret.
Behind one of the trees, a tiger hiding, waiting for  Mimis to pass by. As soon as Mimis showed up, the tiger jumped on him. Mimis in fear screamed and begged the tiger not to eat him.
The tiger opened his mouth wide as he approached him. Mimis again screamed and wished the tiger would spare him. Only then tiger laughed and said, " Oh I won't eat you. I just found it funny!"
Mimis realized that his tricks were not so funny at all. He understood how his tricks were harmful to his friends. He apologized and confessed his mistake. And since that day, he never ever tricked anyone.

Sometimes our children will learn the hard way, either through issues happening in their school or facing a problem on their own without having us to be there to stand by them. But if we insured to teach them all what they needed, we would assure that they will become as we wish them to be; good and behaving. Loving our children does not mean spoiling them or not giving the time. They need our attention and they need from us to spend time together, teaching them all means of life and how to face it. Teach them right and wrong, how to be strong and how to react. By this, they will be ready for the world outside their home and we will be sure they will act as any good child will.

I would like to know what you think.... I orginally wrote it on storybird.com with illustration. But I had to make some changes here to fit a story technique. :)

This is really cute. I like it. It'll be a good bedtime story for kids. But more importantly I love the lesson of the story. Bet kids would really learn from this. :)
