Somber Talk

Somber Talk

A Poem by Sage Kallen
"

We all know how to lie. Why do we find it so hard to follow truth when it's the one thing that can bring us back to life?

"

You told me once that you’d survive,

but you were afraid to live and not ready to die.

You locked away your hearts with a deceitful lie.

The flowers crumbled and ashes left behind,

but you just smiled with tears beneath your eyes.

You played victim and got lost in your own little mind.

Feed into false sayings and twisted words.

Closed your eyes for one last slumber,

hoping to not wake up till it all was over.

Wanting to fade yet scared with no name.

What a somber place you live inside,

all because you chose to lie.

Afraid to live and not ready to die,

but what you can’t see is you are already dead inside.
