Trust Issues

the struggle to trust people these days, the struggle to know they won't betray you

Censoring my words
For certain prying ears
How can I be sure
Betrayal wont repeat itself
Some secrets
Aren't meant to be heard
And definitely not
Spread around
Things have a habit
Of coming full circle
Numerous times
It's come back to bite me
I try to stay
Within my own boundaries
Avoid lines
Not meant to be crossed
But if my foot
Steps over that line
How can I be sure
Your standards aren't double
Suspicious of everyone
Trusting no one.

I don't trust certain people for jack s**t. They have the nerve to spread things around when they don't know what your life is like. I loved reading this. I can relate, but I think everyone has trust issues to a point. I mean what are people saying about you behind closed doors? That's what goes around in your mind. Thanks for sharing. :D

Exactl friends shouldn't hurt friends ughhh that reminds me of my lovely ex best friend who I'm not really sure where we stand right now, she was the prodominant muse of this poem

I just got out of a relationship due to me having trust issues, I trusted her but I doubted the situation, I asked her to explain it, she made up excuse after excuse. I stuck it out and trusted her some more, and the guilt made her break up with me. Trust issues, gained +1. Cheers this poem was great. Great write.

Ah trust issues... don't get me started... for the first 1/2 of my life I didn't trust anyone... then I decided to trust everyone and let them determine if they were trustworthy and deal with it after they told me who they were. That's not working out so well either LOL... If you figure this topic out... let me know!

I have major true issues, makes my relationship with my partner a living hell for both of us. This was an amazingly written poem. This is the only poem I have read that I can properly say I relate to. Well done for writing this poem. Can I ask, did you write this and relate to yourself while writing it? Your not alone. I'm glad u can relate after being betrayed time and time again its hard for me to open up to anyone, no matter how close they are to me. I do have anxiety issues that I'm currently dealing with, it sucks but I'm working on it. Thanks your support, means a lot :)

Yeah, my past hasn't been over good either. As I was a kid I struggled through violence towards my family. I got bullied and I was hated on by everyone. My past boyfriends treated me like a pile of s**t. Like I say, if you wanna talk, I'm here for you :)
