If I left the world today

Do not worry, I have no plans of leaving good old Earth anytime soon. Today with no school and all, I started wondering: If I died today, being only a teenager, would I have lived a successful life?

 

 

 

If I left the world today

Could I say that I’d be missed?

Would you wish you had told me

All you left unsaid?

Would cry in your pillow

Mourning my short life?

Would you wonder if

I’d lost the will to fight?

 

If I left the world today

Could I say I done some good?

That I helped the world in some way

I tried to make a change?

I knew I could be selfish

But do all my virtuous moments go to waste?

Can at least be remembered

As someone strived to be her best?

 

If I left the world today

Could I say I was happy?

All the heart ache and despair

Be lifted from my shoulders?

If I remembered the good times

Could I rest my joyful heart?

Could my mind be at peace

And never have to look back?

I would never known the dreams i want to make
the wonders i have to discover
the woman i have to treasure
the life i have to explore
and the beauty of living on how i survive in each challenges life throws...

now that's my thoughts when reading this great poem..

This is incredible! I could actually see myself asking the same questions if I were thinking about this same topic. You really catch the exact sense of a teenager and their frame of mind in this situation!! Then when you end with "...And never have to look back?" It's like this major cliffhanger. I really liked it :D

I would hope so! No worries though, i plan on during lots of things before i die like; get kicked out of wal-mart, go para sailing, wake board, pat a koala bear, ski in the Swiss alps, etc. you know that usual :)

haha, "get kicked out of wal-mart". I think that's something to add to my bucket list :P I wrote a list when I was 11/12 of 10 things I had to do before I died - one of those was to, and I quote, "Eat 10,000,000 Creme eggs".

It's an ongoing task :p

I did that too in sixth grade! haha well i promise to send you boxes of them for various holidays to help out....I think i had marry a rich guy on mine...:)
