Her Games

A girl who I've known forever and has recently decided to be the shadow of another girl. I always take the risks and she makes sure to reap the benefits.

You complain about her

Yet you are glued to her side

You’d ditch me in a heart-beat

Without a single reason why.

I’ve known you since forever

She’s never cared

I took you under my wing

When you were lonely and scared.

I braved the hard roads

And you followed suit

You eased yourself with my friends

But in the end you ditched them too.

Your never ending social climb

But you’re stuck on the same rung of the ladder

You try so hard and kiss a*s like a pro

But in the end it doesn’t matter.

Dearest ex-follower

I don’t know where this will end

But when she drops you hard

I won’t be there to lend a hand.

omg the whole time i read this i was thinking of my friend who used to be in my group and i had been her first friend then she ditched me and my friends and is part of the more "popular" crowd of music geeks and theatre kids. but oh well i don't need her anymore even if she was my friend for 9 years.

I like this piece. I read a few of your others and they were all interesting, but I enjoyed the break from the rigid stanzas. Free verse is my true love and even with the rhyme scheme this still felt more free and in my opinion more direct. I'd love to read a piece of yours written in more of a stream of consciousness kinda style. Let loose, maybe read Howl lol. But overall very good writing I plan to keep reading through your work.
