Purgatory Trial

Purgatory Trial

A Poem by soady
"

Question of life in the face of death.

"

Falling down onto the ground,
You have only lived so far.
Which memories will you bound?
The real question, but bizarre...

Single thought may not do
Enough pleasure for you to
Satisfy your mind and soul
Before embracing final toll.

You can just enjoy the fall.
You try not to think at all,
Try not to give a thought
To those eyes which you sought,
To that gift you have bought,
To the moment which you caught,
To happiness that it brought.
To the feeling you were taught...

You fell.
You didn't die.
How good it feels to be alive!
Now turn back to what you'd tell;
Are you in heaven? Are you in hell?

If you saw love, if you felt fear,
If you sensed that the end is near,
The world is yours for the taking:
Your own world of love making...

If you saw you
Falling down,
Your rescue
Will never dawn.
