A Boy's JourneyA Poem by Scott SFor someone that I know well. He knows who he is.
Into this world a boy did come
With passioned heart And loving soul He grew alone, his dog and he Companions in the summer sun Pepper trees and springtime ball The smell of lazy days gone by Nose against the window pane Mother's car a mile away He dated not, but loved no less A dark haired beauty, friend so true The promise to remember And to not forget as years go by A father stern and mother strong The briefest stop in Mercer town They raised him well With love and trust A lasting stamp within their souls Then headed north, the last frontier By plane they went across the land Rainy day, and father's words "Welcome in the summertime" Northern lights and icy realms High school days and teenage crush The boy he spent his days and nights Within the land of midnight sun Father Time, aging heart His blessed dog, he did pass A bride to be he met and wed And three sons God did give to him Halloweens and frosty nights Days that never became light A place of peace within his heart A special bond That lingers still Then from the mountains he did hear A calling It was time to leave The great northwest with sky of blue The boy A man of troubled times With marriage that had come to pass A new beginning he did make A priceless find, a lover true And faith it came Into his heart With thoughtless mind he broke her once But vowed to never do the same Again A lesson learned with pain And still their love it did endure A twisted river he has known The Amazon no deeper Than The depth of growth that he has shown Today he presses forward For in his mind the boy did find The things in life that mean the most A love that's true The grace of God A journey lived Continues on © 2008 Scott SFeatured Review
