For Diane

For Diane

A Poem by Scott S
"

For someone very special

"
I have a love that's special
And in my heart it grows
With leaps and bounds
She brings me joy
And seeds of trust she sows

I have a love that glistens
As clear as any stream
And day and night
She lives inside
My heart, and in my dreams

My love is steeped in faithfulness
As any true love should be
A rock of strength
And dignity
That God has sent to me

And in my darkest hour
My love was there for me
To navigate
The rapids towards
A place where we should be

I have a love of treasures
More worthy than of gold
A luscious flower
Whose garden
I will grow in, till we're old

Such a wonderful poem!! It's playful and performs with an instinct of a pure Love. Not just a Love one might assume through respect and/or that of adoration for another's strength or enthusiasm, but one borne from one's own childhood that reminds them and bonds them to their faiths and sense of community. With each new beginning to your stanzas, we are being introduced to another deep breath of srts that is easily recognized as Love in your own words. You could throw a 1,000 adjectives before the word "Love", but in the end, it is as punctual and actual as the very construction of this poem that allows for quite the tribute for this lady, Dianne!! What I am trying to say is that Diane is freakin' lucky. lol -Mark

This is just so beautiful. Almost brought tears to my eyes. Happy ones! :)

Diane is a lucky woman. I wonder did she get to read this particular poem? Just curious.
Oh, to have a man write such lovely things about me someday.

I'm happy that you've found someone whom you love so much.

Beautiful choice of words and perfect flow. This is how a poem should be written. "...love that glistens
As clear as any stream..." This is my favorite image from the poem. By the way, my wife's name is Diane.
