Burn the LanternA Poem by Scott SI wanted to write a piece about the terrible plight of the Syrian people, and their hope for a new start. My heart goes out to those good people who are simply pawns in the horror of their war.
Time to burn the lantern
A new day has begun Tanks and gas and chaos And nowhere left to run Taste the poison in the air Hold your children tight Tears and screams abounding As darkness turns to light Demons sitting at the helm Control your destiny Bite your lip and pray aloud And struggle to get free Jordan calling from the south A haven to be found Get in line with others Time to leave this town It's time to burn the lantern Abandon all you see Leave behind the sickness It's time for you to flee
