on the inside

on the inside

A Poem by snowyno

I want to wrap my poetry around me tonight

Block out all the wrongs with what I write

I want to wear my poems, words in

So that the outside gets blank pages

with a hint of scribbled message seeping through

Moving words, lit up by mirky yellow lights from inside

Implosions of color and texture ripple the page

Drawing your eye to a ruffle of thought

Barely getting a glimmer of whats inside

the edge of page flaps and reveals

a color so pure and unsmashed by the world

A texture and taste of air not yet polluted

The smell of fresh ink from the poems on the inside

my God! I love these lines:

I want to wear my poems, words in
So that the outside gets blank pages

and I like the double meaning of the "write" of the second line....and the folded corner giving a hint of what inside ...this is good stuff. Keep posting.

For some reason this makes me think of James and the Giant Peach.. that old movie by Disney.. In a totally good way. I love your imagery and the feeling of being too much for the world around you.

Amazing read!
