Could I take it back?

Could I take it back?

A Poem by snow_angel

Childhood has slipped past my grasping fingers,
slowly fading into the nothingness that is now my life,
I am forever trapped as an adult, in this world of emptiness.

The rough spots were always there,
the depression and pains of growing up
friendless days, and sleepless nights alone.

Yet, still, I wish some days to have it all back,
so that I may rewind and reconstruct it, all
to my perfect design of life and happiness.

By dropping the thoughtless pain filled memories
and regenerating the old happy ones
even recreating new ones so that I may live a happy lie.

It doesn't matter that I never had any friends,
I just want to remember those innocent days,
from way back then.
