A poem about looking for answers

To John, 

With love,

by the time,

I wrote these lines

You were gone

Sang love's last song

Night out

No return

Tears rolled

Why?

The bridge

The river

Tears rolled

Why?

Your mum

Your sister

Tears rolled

Why?

Everyone looked

Lanterns reached

Tears rolled

Why?

Weeks went

Body found

Tears rolled

Why?

No answers

Just this

Why?

Author's Note

I'm not a poet lol and i'm not even going to pretend to be one. My stepbrother jumped off a bridge a year ago today, a week went by and on the day the chinese laterns went up to try and bring him home they found his body. I'v still not got my head around it so i wrote thsi for him.

I loved the flow on this piece.... I liked the divisions, it was a joy to read.

On the actually story written:
It was sad... they still don't know why. That is the reality of most situations. Something bad happens, there is no explanation and we just have to live with it. I am so glad that you ended it that way... Bravo!
