Shadow

There is a shadow

And he follows me

He disappears

Then by my side he will be

 

I love to do things

Side by side

Sometimes he’s in front

Or behind me to hide

 

When my shadow leaves

Anticipation floods through me

Of the next meeting we’ll have

Because he’s all I want to see

 

An empty spot in my heart

My mind becomes tossed

There is something missing

It’s my shadow I have lost

 

Together I become whole

When apart incomplete

My shadow is what I need

To insure that my heart will beat

 

Oh shadow

When you are unseen

I feel as though you’re inside

Giving me a new dream

 

A dream of you

When aloof is the game

I save you spot by me

Until you return again
