Roots Be Bound

Roots Be Bound

A Poem by Snits

Wound tight within soft bends
I glance over my shoulder.
Observing behind the dark shadow I cast
My arms follow your shape as you walk past.
Sunk deep beneath my ridges
Emotion hides its face.
Unravel my blanket in which I hide
Feel my hollow heart inside.
Sturdy, ready for your touch
I bind myself to hard moist ground.
Blowing softly past my eyes
Clenching earth while my leaves fly.

About
I walk as a lonely shadow among the hustle of the city street. Amidst the shoes and wheels I sway. My dark outline follows the thousands of footsteps etched into the road. Leaving a story with.. more..
