The Softest Pillow

The Softest Pillow

A Poem by Snits

Your warm body pulled close against mine

I tremble in your grasp.

Our hearts race and our bodies stiffen.

As your eyes meet mine, my heartbeat slows

and I melt into every curve of your body.

Your soft lips touch gently to mine.

Our cheeks brush as I turn away,

and I can't help but pull back even closer.

My cheek rises and falls slowly,

laid upon your chest.

Your hand rests upon my back

keeping me tight against your body.

Our legs tangle,

the way your fingers intertwine so perfectly with mine.

I curl up safely in your arms and close my eyes.

My eyes open

and I am cold.

Releasing my pillow from my own grasp,

I sleep.

About
I walk as a lonely shadow among the hustle of the city street. Amidst the shoes and wheels I sway. My dark outline follows the thousands of footsteps etched into the road. Leaving a story with.. more..
