If I had a Dream

If I had a Dream

A Poem by Snits

If I had but just a dream

then perhaps I'd be an astronaut,
or a cellist, or a rock.
I'd sail across the distant seas
and above me birds would flock.
If I had just a single dream
I might run my hands o’er fields of wheat,
or stand out in the rain.
I’d give myself a pinch or two
just to see if there was pain.
If I had but just a dream
     I’d slip into myself.
I’d never cease to close my eyes
‘cause there’d only be us two.
I’d shudder at the thought of morning,
when I won’t remember you.

About
I walk as a lonely shadow among the hustle of the city street. Amidst the shoes and wheels I sway. My dark outline follows the thousands of footsteps etched into the road. Leaving a story with.. more..
