Butterscotch

Butterscotch

A Chapter by Snits

As our souls guide us through this bland tablet.

We still discriminate and hate, we separate.

Just our colors and flavors mark our fate.

Sweet butterscotch pushed to the side of it.

Others judge our squares not the cherries pit.

Look through our eyes, not at them. You’ll relate.

Hearts vulnerable at a melting state, and

you reweave our hearts like something you knit.

No we won’t stand for it, not any more.

Outside butterscotch but inside the same.

We are all sweet no matter the wrapper.

Your harsh words have put me down and I’m worn.

But now my rage is not something to tame.

You may discriminate but I am sweeter.

About
I walk as a lonely shadow among the hustle of the city street. Amidst the shoes and wheels I sway. My dark outline follows the thousands of footsteps etched into the road. Leaving a story with.. more..
