Aversion to Love--- Chapter 3

A Story by J. V. Moffatt

Story about a writer

"
"Mike, I'm totally in love with Regina! Totally in love. I feel like I should go change my major right now," I said to him while beating on his arm walking to his car.

"Kel, are you crazy? Do you know how long it would take for you to start a new major?"

"I don't care. This is my passion. I want to do this. I want to work on my masterpiece."

"That's what you've been doing."

"But Mike, I want to work on it as if it's my main priority. It can't be the side dish. It has to be the main course. I want my stuff read all over the world. I want to read my stuff all over the world. I want to go on top of mountains and scream it. That's sounds so cliche I know but I want to create things forever!"

"Do whatever you want but I still think you're making a mistake."

"It would be my mistake to make. Sometimes you have to make mistakes. if this felt wrong, I wouldn't do it."

Back at Mike's apartment, we both attempted to do our assignment.

"What makes me hot, Kel," Mike asked me after about an hour. I had been scribbling idea after idea for the past hour. Nothing really made sense on the paper but at least it was something.

"Nothing makes you hot. That's your problem," I said to him.

"I guess you're right. Maybe I'm just meant to tell people what to do. Maybe I'm just a director. I'm not creative."

"You need to be creative to be a director too, Michael. You have some creativity in you. You need to have creative direction. I know what you need. Do you still have that wine from Lisa's wedding?"

"It's in the cooler," he said raising his eyebrow.

"I'll be back." I left the living room to get the bottle of Sutter Home White Zinfandel and two wine glass. I put the glasses on the table and poured the wine. I filled one glass a little more than the other.

"Drink that," I said to Mike handing him the fuller glass.

"What's this for," Mike asked me. The expression on his face was more or less confused. He looked two seconds away from tilting his head.

"We need change. We need a little excitement. Frankly, you need to get laid. You're never going to create anything good as a virgin. Bottoms up because tonight I'm taking your virginity."

"Excuse me? What if I don't want you to take it?

"Drink. I'm not really giving you a choice. The fact that you have been given a choice in the matter is the reason why you're still a virgin. Look, it's nothing romantic. When I write my memoirs, I'll leave this little transaction out of the story. You're my best friend. This isn't going to make things weird or anything. We're just two friends who are going to have sex. We don't have to talk about it. Just do it."

"What are you thinking? We do have to talk about this."

"Aren't you tired of holding back, Michael? Aren't you tired of questioning everything that you do? Drink that wine. You don't have any other option. I'd like to see you resist me.
