A whirlwind affair

has left me without a care.

There is a new sense of freedom

in this new feeling of serenity.

A love forbidden excites the heart

but inside the soul withers.

 

The lover knows that it's a bad choice

but all she could hear was his voice.

So she chanced her heart

 

She chanced her soul.

But only to result in being cold.

Although he would give her the moon

it wasn't enough to pacify the issue at hand.

that she believed something and he didn't.

 

But he made her believe something she didn't

that the person in the mirror is beautiful.

the thought made her heart blissful.

And the rush of the forbidden excites

like the sun enthuses the sky after night.
