We Shall be Tortured

We Shall Be Tortured

We shall be tortured right through the night

With gilted slivers of piercing moon light

A heart that thumps and thuds away

A thousand dawns away from day

We shall be tortured till we get it right

We'll be tossed and rolled through sleepless nights

There’s a reason for every gilded pang of pain

It puts real value on every hard won pleasures domain
