The Human Race is Damaged

The human race is damaged

The place they live is pillaged

Their minds are warped and bent

Their only emotion is ‘want.’

Money, lust, success like celebrities

Just manifest further insecurities.

They push the river; pull at straws

Oppose the natural earthly laws,

Fear of failure motivates

Poverty, addiction, rape and hate

Persecution, corruption, terrorism of race.

Or just a meal, with or without a plate!

There’s help out there in the market place

For those that seek this worldly grace

And haven’t yet made a home made noose

Or slit their wrists after a vat of booze.

The spiritualists say dig the silence

To find your soul

The capitalists say spend

While the banks still lend…

Spend your children’s inheritance.

The Christians say save

As they steal innocence…

The law says mend

While the innocents plead

While judges bend

To corporate greed,

Mothers weep while children bleed

Western youth say ‘give it all to me

Like,-Soo Gratuitously,’

The old say please give life back

Or at least “dare to dream,”

Hollywood recommends

Sit back and let it pass,

Politicians talk and take it all

Without saying anything at all,

The media love it

Its mint to them

They won’t rock

The barbed wire cradle

Where rack and slime

Of petrifying men cling.

Opra Winfrey gets involved

In dysfunctional families love unsolved

But manages quiet well

To always shine the spotlight

Away from the real disgrace of the market place.

It’s all this chatter and ‘monkey’ cures

The right ideas drawn and proposed

I would have been a failure myself

If I competed with a damaged race.

The new order of 1984’ers

Forgive me now; I’ve got to sign off

The people around me are too ambitious,

They’re making a din bout self improvement

Rattling my brain with their biographic imprisonment.

Going for self improvement

Without sacrifice,

Self advancements indeed!

Before humanities needs?

Immediate humanity, that is,

Given to deafness

If offered advice,

Defeatist moaning,

I-we-us-them

Can’t ever seem

To get it right

The human race is damaged

Common sense is pillaged

Evolution has ceased

While the ‘observing-leeching-conditioning

 -syndrome-virus has increased.

And me, I’m just another sot

Lucky to be breathing air

With the poison I put in my gut!

With the words I post

On the internet

And the temper I lately find

Difficult to keep wrapped.

You can protest till you’re black and blue

But sometime violence is your only cue.

Ghandi said that....

Or at least he said

“Don’t just do nothing!”

The human race is damaged

Even the bees are disappearing

But the worst thing of all

Most of us choose not to see it!!!

I've always been the eternal optimist in live. However as time moves on, your words and others like them ring with a truth. It saddens me that society has become so unaware of it's own negatives that it turns the blind eye to the truly important things.
I can honestly say that I've felt everything that you've writen... except I disagree with the last line.
I believe it's not that people doesn't or are choosing not to see the issues... I believe they either simply are unaware, or they do see it and are chooice not to act upon the issues.
The two hardest things to do in this world these days is to teach the truth, and to motivate a people to act.

Thanks for sharing your ink and all that it involves. I appreciate the voice.
