Gold Ribbon

Gold Ribbon

A Poem by Wendy Sue

Walking was so simple,
how easy it use to be.
No weight did I carry,
like floating gently in the sea.

No thought given to tripping,
expected as it should.
Strolling traded for running,
just because I could.

Medals now awarded,
the race is all but done.
Someone flipped the gravity switch,
nothing have I won.

Metals...medals
If only we could sail through life with the carefree attitude of our childhood. Adulthood gets in the way of all the fun we used to have.
Good morning, enjoyed your words
