Souls of The FewA Poem by s.narangodaNot my usual form of writing, but I wanted to try it out a while back. I also wanted to try out a new rhyming pattern, where the first lines of each verse rhyme. Not sure if it has been done before.
Souls of The Few
It begins again. She hears a cry, But not with her ears. It grows and sighs; Like her limitless fears. Naught to sustain Her newfound flaws; A misplaced soul; The price of a lost cause. Another dictator’s impossible goal. She sees the pain, But not with her eyes. The salvation she craves, Not in the truthful lies, Found only in the unbounded graves. Once, happiness used to reign, When she used to have a family Who now solemnly lay, Sleeping for all eternity, Their fears washed away. And so begins their inhuman campaign; The guns, they fire. The soldiers, they kill. Their deeds, they admire. For the fear that they instill. © 2015 s.narangoda |
