Monster

Monster

A Poem by PerpetuallyJune
"

On realizing that what's on the surface doesn't always reveal everything about a person.

"

Did you ever stop to think
Did you ever think to see
Did you ever see that I,
I was crumbling at the seams?

My hands trembled like tectonic plates,
My heart waltzed to crash and burn,
My daydreams were masked nightmares,
and my brain kept pressing self-destruct

Yes, I was tearing myself apart,
but you never stopped to think
you never thought to see
you never saw the monster,
the monster ripping away at me.
