The Color of Freedom

The Color of Freedom

A Poem by Stefon Napier
"

To the fallen soldiers

"

Rusted fallen soldiers

Under an unlimited blue sky

 whisper

The white clouds at liberty,

but red is the color of freedom

So very sad but true, to know freedom has always been a fight, that is its nature for to be totally free also means you have the freedom to deny others their freedom. :(

One of those anomalies where humans get it all wrong, but then, there never was anything right or just about war....I love how you have captured this here and penned it very well

You are so right. They say the ground at Gettysburg was red it was so soaked in blood- 50,000 men died there. And after the battle of Antietam it is said that the Antietam Creek ran red due to the blood of thousands of Union casualties mixing with the creek waters. Red, sadly is the color of freedom.

Well done. I think that short pieces are so much harder to write well than longer pieces. The need to compress emotion and pare it down to the essentials. You did it quite nicely here.

Freedom is not an easy thing to get. Also, it happens to be the most important element of this life. Few lines described so much. Great Write.

This has a haiku/senryu like feeling without being one, and filled with good imagery, that stays excellently
on the theme..
