To Break The World A New Sky

To Break The World A New Sky

A Poem by Stefon Napier

I'm a cliched youth

Running on dying asphalt

Once I pave my dreams in reality,

I not going to acknowledge such a limit anymore.

The truth has so many false outlets.

 We'll  all burn confused.

Across the world and in the cities there's this rage and a rage.

To light the fuse while drenched in what some consider  "enlightenment".

There's a chilly wisdom to the world that lets the humble just die

So all the tall great things can no longer remember their origins.

Have our twigs crumble to fire and our children will stumble to weeds.

Hold sweetness out at length and I bet you ambition will surely reek.

There must be more than limits.

Imposed doesn't mean the end, only there's somewhere behind.

Somewhere I ought to look.

Even if it had been done once before.

This world is cliched.

Fighting and plotting out dreams is nothing new.

But say I set out to break the world a new sky.

Just know damn well its still gonna be blue.
